Black and Blue Shout Outs From Dahlinks

Reporting live from The Black and Blue Fair 2010, I give you a little peak of the hot items available from a bevy of the hard hitting, on the edge designers currently showing at the fair. Starting off with this stunning corset from [III]. The Baby Latica is a light shade of blue and hits your curves just perfectly. I landed right in front of this when I got to the fair today, and decided that in front of this beauty is where I would bring you the rest of the goodies for today.

Continuing on with hotness from Alexohl. Can you say....daaaaamn. Their complete selection at the fair is just incredible. The Moonshine dress pictured above made me say, "MINE MINE MINE", so a big shout out to the great people at Alexohl for the sweet additions to my wardrobe.

Alexohl also has the Rum Runner Bikini pictured above..talk about pure sexy. I love it. I am wearing Cstar's fair offering of their Betty Azul Black and Blue Fair Edition skin in Dark 1. Paired with the bikini...looks like I have had a week of lounging in the sun with some umbrella drinks. The blue lipstick well it is giving me awesome 80's flashbacks.

I think I will roll out a sleeping bag and spend the night surrounded by all the beautiful stuff here at the fair. Maybe I will get lucky and someone will buy me too....just kidding.

Black and Blue Fair 2010 Is Here

As promised, The Black and Blue Fair location is revealed! Click right on that nice link and head to a shopping heaven promoting a great cause! I was priviledged enough to be at the opening of the fair last night, and there is so much to tell you about and I pictures of some of the great things available...so without further ado...let's get on with it.

Dahlinks is proud to be a part of this wonderful event. We have released some pretty sparkies just for this show, starting with the Gate choker, earrings and bracelets pictured above.

Dark Obsession...NOIR by DAHLINKS

My newest obsession is dark, sleek and oh so fabulous. The primstress is right on track with her new NOIR line at Dahlinks. I am proud to tell you about the latest additions to join the NOIR line, the NOIR Concubine Earrings and the NOIR Concubine Slide.

These pieces have the perfect balance between being trendy and being able to be worn for years to come. The greatest thing about good pieces of jewelry is the longevity of wear you can get from them and their ability to withstand the test of time. I really love to find pieces that are visually striking and look up to the minute hot right now.....but when I pull them out some time later, they are still relevant and don't look dated.

Stick and stones may break my bones, but razor blades excite me. *Me does an evil, kinda scary laugh*. Not that the newest addition to the NOIR line at Dahlinks is scary, but I do like to attempt one of those old school Nightmare on Elm Street laughs every now and then.

So what the heck am I rambling about. It is razors, but not ya old man's straight shaving razor. I am talking NOIR razors. I told you about Dahlinks newest line, NOIR recently, and this piece of black yumminess is the newest addition.

Because We Care: Black & Blue Fair

Dahlinks is proud to announce their participation this June in the Black and Blue Fair: Fashion for Mental Health Awareness. The fair will take place between June 4 to July 3, 2010.

This June, a selection of your favorite designers, including Dahlinks, will be presenting brand new and exclusive items only available at the fair and nowhere else (at least until the fair is over). Accessories, clothing, hair, skins and more, the fair will have it all.

The purpose of the fair is two fold. Firstly, FASHION. Who doesn't love a good fashion event? Brand new items, some at discount rates, all in one glorious shoppers heaven...love at first sight.
Second, there will be information about all sorts of mental health issues and illnesses throughout the venue. Mostly these will be visual aids around the precious couture so that people won't have to read huge chunks of text.

The main purpose of the fair is to de-stigmatise mental health issues. The are many people in Second Life that have unhappy "real life's" for whatever reason. Some of them are unwell, disabled, depressed and other people are just lonely or don't like who they think they are, but no one is alone in Second Life and everyone can be themselves. So don't let it beat you black and blue...couture can help.

The location remains a secret for now, but I have gotten a sneak peek...yes it is good to be me, and let me tell you it is gorgeous!!! Keep checking here for the latest information as it breaks.

ANZAC DAY - The slouch hat: Trademark of the Australian Army

Perhaps no other object has been so widely associated with Australian identities as the "slouch" or "digger" hat. Available at Dahlinks or on XstreeSL. Full sculptie and resizable even down to Tiny.  250L

Introduced into Australian military service in the second half of the 19th century, the hat was suited to the local climate and the rigours of military use. In later years it was hoisted on mastheads by victorious troops in place of a flag. More recently it has graced women’s fashions and adorned the heads of athletes and marching squads.

The slouch hat’s mark in history is rooted in Australia’s introduction to modern warfare at Gallipoli and the reputation established by the AIF on the Western Front. From that time the simple felt hat, with its side turned up, was an emblem of the courage of the Australian digger, and it became a national symbol.

“The Anzac spirit was born at Gallipoli in 1915. Since then it has been demonstrated not only by Australians in war but also by those whose contribution has been in other fields.”

The Anzac legend, which was the result of a devastating loss, rather than a great victory, has had, and continues to have, a significant impact on Australia’s identity. The Australian and New Zealand soldiers demonstrated the spirit of mateship, courage, loyalty, bravery, sacrifice, heroism, dedication, honour, integrity, initiative and determination throughout the 8 month Gallipoli campaign as they battled against daunting odds. These traits have come to represent the Anzac legend, which is evident in Australia today be it in war, conflict or peacetime.

On 25 April every year, Australians commemorate ANZAC Day. It commemorates the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. Commemorative services are held at dawn on 25 April, the time of the original landing, across the nation, usually at war memorials.


ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. In 1917, the word ANZAC meant someone who fought at Gallipoli and later it came to mean any Australian or New Zealander who fought or served in the First World War. During the Second World War, ANZAC Day became a day on which the lives of all Australians lost in war time were remembered. The spirit of ANZAC recognises the qualities of courage, mateship and sacrifice which were demonstrated at the Gallipoli landing.

Australians do not glory in conflict and ANZAC Day is not one of celebration but of rememberance. I invite everyone to take a moment to think of those men and women that fight to protect their homeland, where ever that might be. Even if you do not support the actions of a government, there is a saying "Support the Man if not the Mission".

When Black Meets Beauty

Welcome to the darkside my Dahlinks Darlings. I had to take a deep breath and request oxygen backup when this beauty arrived in my life the other day. I tend to live on the edge of dark and light, between the black and white. Black happens to be my primary color choice in everything, if you see me running around in color it is almost always certainly with a splash of black thrown in. It is just me and I love it. So when the primstress drops a bomb like this in my life, there are no words, just sounds that escape me.

Dahlinks Breathes " Eternal Life" Into the Timeless Pearl

It's that time of year again folks!! In two weeks...FAT TUESDAY will be upon us and you know what that means...BOOBIES!!  Juuuuuuuuuuuuust kidding. LOL

Love Is In the Air...at Dahlinks

So this is how it works...

Avi 1 meets Avi 2.  They flirt, converse, friend each other and one day somewhere much further down the line, they go out.  This continues for a while.  Then one day Avi 1 feels a bit bold and hops a poseball giving Avi 2 one hell of a smooch.  And that's when love blossoms for these two Avis.  From that point on...they're inseparable.  Then V-Day hits (if we're lucky :D). Tag!!! Dahlinks is IT!

I have always had an affinity for dog tags.  I'm not really sure why. Perhaps it is the ability to make your mark without necessarily covering yourself in makers of  'here I am!!'  But a dog tag...it just says plain who you are.  But at Dahlinks...we not only give you a tag...there will always be a flair ;)
